  • 2003 - Rebecca Kinsman

    Congratulations to Rebecca Kinsman, the first recipient of the McLaury Family Scholarship. Rebecca will use the $500 grant to help defray costs of tuition at Cochise College, where she will begin classes this summer. Rebecca's goal is to obtain her associates degree, then transfer to Northern Arizona University to pursue a degree in Education.

     

    Arizona needs good teachers, and Friends of Tombstone is proud to assist Rebecca. She graduated from Tombstone High School last Friday as part of the Class of 2003. For more information about this grant, visit the McLaury Familiy Scholarship home page.

  • 2004 - Vina Marcelina Martinez

    We're proud to announce the 2004 winner of the McLaury Family Scholarship: Vina Marcelina Martinez. Vina, who is ranked among the very top of her class is planning to attend the University of Arizona to pursue a degree in business. She will be graduating tomorrow evening from Tombstone High School. Congratulations to her and her family from all of us who populate the board.

  • 2005 - Julia Grombly

    Congratulations to Julia Grombly, the 2005 winner of the McLaury Family Scholarship. Julia will be awarded $1,000 toward her tuition at Northern Arizona University, where she has been accepted for the coming school year. Julia is pursuing an undergraduate degree that will lead to her ultimate goal of becoming a veterinarian. She is graduating from Tombstone High School on May 26.

     

    Thanks to John Culligan and everyone who has donated to the scholarship fund, and I want to pass along the gratitude of Sally Dowd, head counselor at Tombstone High, who said that this type of funding is critically important at a rural school, and is deeply appreciated.

    Congratulations to Scott Harris, the 2006 winner of the McLaury Family Scholarship. Scott will be awarded $1,500 toward his tuition at the University of Arizona, where he has been accepted for the coming school year. Scott is pursuing an undergraduate degree in science with an ultimate goal of working in the aerospace industry. He graduates from Tombstone High on May 25.

    Congratulations to Emily Addington, the 2015 winner of the Tombstone High School/McLaury Family Scholarship. Emily will be awarded $1,500 toward her tuition as she begins her studies at New Mexico State University. She graduated from Tombstone High on May 21, and while at THS she was a top scholar, community leader and very involved in the 4-H and FFA clubs. Her ultimate goal is to become a veterinarian.

Abagail will be awarded $1,500 toward her tuition as she begins her studies at the University of Saint Mary. She graduates from Tombstone High on May 19, and while at THS she was a top scholar and a captain on both the volleyball and softball teams. She will continue to play softball in college. Her chosen major is Physical Therapy.

Viviana will receive $2,000 toward tuition costs at one of several universities at which she has been accepted. Her goal is a career in nursing.     Congratulations to Dominique Roser, the 2018 winner of the $2,000 Tombstone High School / McLaury Family Scholarship. Dominique graduated at the very top of her class and is President of the National Honor Society chapter at THS. She intends to pursue artistic studies with a focus on animation, and continues a very positive trend of highly qualified and accomplished scholars receiving this award.
